The Middle Tree Photography

The Story

The Middle Path is the Buddhist philosophy describing the journey of life choosing the harmonious middle ground between extremes. It is the pursuit of truly “seeing.” I want to guide you into peering outside the masks you wear on the edges of your own path.

Adorning our paths are a tangle of trees, a tangible representation of old and new, wisdom, growth and constancy, strength and fragility, endurance and weakness, bending and unyielding, expansion and oneness, closed and open. Artistic and mathematical. A majestic paradox. I love how trees have a hidden life like we all do--something quiet and introverted, but connected.

It is fitting that I am the middle child; I tend to balance the extremes for others and capture those moments so that they can “see” better where their middle path lies. I witness epiphanies, and these discoveries are what I endeavor to capture in my portraits. Not just beauty, nor a moment in time, but rather a Revealing and a Becoming.

Yet all experience is an arch wherethro'
Gleams that untravell'd world whose margin fades
For ever and forever when I move.”
